Theatre academy and master in Madrid
Dutch actress Relinde de Graaff graduated from the Maastricht Theatre Academy and specialized in camera acting at the First Team Foundation in Madrid. Here she was taught by award-winning film actors Assumpta Serna and Scott Cleverdon. Since graduating, she has been working as a self-employed person, but the actress continues to develop by following training and workshops with, among others, ACT Acteursbelangen and casting director Marina Wijn.
Film and series
She starred in various (short) films and television series. She played roles in, among others, Flikken Maastricht directed by Martin Schwab, FC Kip of the Dino Show directed by Willem van der Vet and in the movie Hemelrijken directed by Stanley Kolk. She also competed several times at the 48 Hour Film Project in Rotterdam. She participated four times on her own, as a solo-team, devising, writing, filming, editing and starring her own short film, all done within 48 hours. One of these short films was shown at the Pleinbioscoop in Rotterdam.
Awards and nominations
With her leading role in the short film Lights Out by Wesley Versteeg, she won the prize for Best Actress at the Delta Shorts Competition – Film by the Sea International Film Festival. The Dutch actress was nominated four times as Best Actress at the 48 Hour Film Project and won the prize for Best Acting Ensemble together with Loes Schnepper, Rienus Krul and Eva van Welzenis.
Theatre
From 2019-2022, Relinde was an actress at the theatre collective De Stad Speelt, founded by Fem Petraeus.
Relinde now works as an actress at Theater Group Bint, where she has learned to switch effortlessly between scripted scenes and improvisational theater. Bint is a theatre group that inpires people to discuss difficult topics.
Foreign languages
Relinde speaks fluent Dutch, English, Spanish, German and French and a little Modern Standard Arabic.
Because of her bilingual secondary education, she learned to speak English fluently. She learned Oxford English there, which made her accent British. Her accent is also called International English. It is a neutral English accent that can be used internationally. Relinde has appeared in several English-language films and theater productions. For example, she appeared in films by Scenarios4Summits and she is also employed by Theater Group Bint to play and improvise in English.
